Welcome to my website! So, what is proofreading?

Proofreading is the final step in the editing process.  Whether it is for a book manuscript, website content, or an essay, proofreading is the final step. It is defined as “the process of reading a text and scrutinizing all of its components to find error and mark them for correction.” A proofreader is someone “who tests your work for mistakes before the final draft.” Most importantly, a  proofreader is not an editor. As such, a proofreader simply reads copy or transcripts and checks for typographical errors, double words, grammar errors, punctuation, spelling, and formatting issues.
